A limited number of audio guide devices are available at the ticket office for a rental fee (€ 2, plus headphones € 1).

From what age is GRIMMWELT suitable for children?

We recommend that children from the age of 6 visit the permanent exhibition. In particular, the section of the exhibition dedicated to the Brothers Grimm's linguistic research is only suitable for children from primary school onwards.

Smaller children are nevertheless very welcome, and nursery school groups are also very welcome to visit us - especially the interactive fairy-tale world around the DORNENHECKE.

Can I bring my pram into the exhibition?

The exhibition rooms are accessible by lift from the ground floor (foyer, shop, catering, toilets) and may also be accessed with prams.

For safety reasons, we reserve the right to regulate access to exhibition rooms with prams if necessary (e.g. large numbers of visitors). In such cases, we have space available to leave prams and pushchairs.

All floors of the GRIMMWELT are accessible by lift. There is also an accessible toilet on the ground floor and on the first floor.

The exhibition is also accessible to all visitors.

The roof can be reached by stairs, but also via a lift from the GRIMMWELT foyer.

Can I take my jacket and bag into the exhibitions?

Umbrellas, backpacks, suitcases, bags etc. (larger than A4) and jackets must remain in the cloakrooms or lockers.

Am I allowed to take photographs or film in the GRIMMWELT?

Written permission is required for commercial purposes.

Where can I park?

A limited number of parking spaces are available for a fee right next to the GRIMMWELT.

In addition, discounted parking spaces are available for visitors in the Friedrichsplatz underground car park. If you show your parking ticket at the GRIMMWELT ticket office, the parking ticket will be discounted by 1 Euro.

GENERAL NOTE: The GRIMMWELT is located within a garden monument area that needs to be protected from the impact of additional traffic. We therefore recommend travelling by public transport.
