In the GRIMMWELT Kassel, the Brothers Grimm are transported from the olden days to modern times in an artistic, multi-media interactive experience. Discover and become part of the Grimms’ fascinating life and work.

Visit the permanent exhibition and the special exhibition in a guided tour or at your own pace with the GRIMMWELT Audio Guide, and discover new, fascinating facts about the famous collectors of fairy tales.

Guided tours

Let yourself be spirited away into the world of the Grimms with its treasure-trove of fairy tales and language!

Turn your group excursion to the GRIMMWELT into a special experience and combine the visit to the exhibition with a guided tour tailored to the interests of the participants.

Discover the permanent exhibition at your own pace with our GRIMMWELT Audio Guide! You can also download the Audio Guide directly as an app.

Catering

Round off your group experience with a visit to our FALADA café-restaurant, where you have a wonderful view over Kassel while enjoying regional specialities from Hesse or something from our range of home-made cakes.

Arrangements for groups:

  • Breakfast / brunch for 10-55 persons
  • Lunch menu from 20 persons
  • Coffee and cakes from 10 persons

Please register groups of more than 10 persons in advance.

Register your group! (without guided tour)

If you would like to take a guided tour with your group, select one of the offers in the guided tours section above and make your booking request directly there.

Procedures and other information

Arrival

On arrival, participants are requested to wait outside the GRIMMWELT building until the tour guide (accompanying person) has registered the group at the cash desk and paid the entrance fee.

Instead of individual tickets, the tour guide will distribute stickers, which must be displayed visibly on each group member’s clothing, before the group enters the building.

Cloakroom

Bags, jackets, overcoats etc. must be deposited in the cloakroom or in a locker.

Admission

On site at the GRIMMWELT cash desk (cash / EC card / credit card)

Guided tour

On site, pay the guide (cash ONLY!)

For tour operators:
If arranged in advance, payment for the guided tour by invoice is possible. A small fee will be charged for this service.
If booking and payment of the guided tour fee and admission charge are arranged via Kassel Marketing, the service charge will be waived. The booking confirmation will be accepted as a voucher at the cash desk.
Cancellation terms and conditions

Guided tour

If cancellation is made up to 11 working days before the scheduled tour date, a processing fee of 15 € per group will be charged. The entire sum due must be paid for cancellations made 10 or fewer working days before the scheduled tour date.

Admission

The group reservation for admission can be cancelled free of charge.
Arriving by coach

Alighting point

Visitors arriving by coach should head for the coach stop Brüder-Grimm-Platz (satnav destination: “Brüder-Grimm-Platz”).
From the coach stop, follow the signposted pedestrian route to the GRIMMWELT (approx. 4 minutes)

Parking

There are no parking facilities for tourist coaches at the GRIMMWELT. Coach parking is available at the Naturkundemuseum/Ottoneum at Papinplatz (satnav destination: “Papinplatz”).

The GRIMMWELT is approx. a 15-minute walk from there.
